Democratic Party Announces Orientation Session

Program to welcome and educate individuals interest in elective office and party service

NEW ALBANY, February 22, 2022 – The Floyd County Democratic Party has announced it will hold a party orientation session on Saturday, March 5, 2022, dedicated to welcoming and educating individuals interested in elected office and party service. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the 40 & 8 Voiture #1250 Veterans Club, located at 221 Albany Street in New Albany.

“Our party is committed to welcoming individuals who want to make a difference in their community,” stated Party Chair Adam Dickey. “Our Party Orientation is an opportunity for them to get involved, educate themselves on our organization and activities, and find the best place for them to be part of the 2022 election cycle.”

This event is designed to be an interactive discussion outlining the party’s structure, candidate and activist opportunities, and the party’s 2022 program of events and activities. In addition to races for U.S. Senator, Secretary of State, Congress, and State Representative, the 2022 ballot will also feature several local races for County and Township government. Party members also can attend the State Democratic Convention in June and express interest in a Precinct Committee Person appointment.

“Each of us bears a responsibility to improve our community,” Dickey added. “It’s our goal to give folks a starting point for their civic and political involvement.”

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Floyd County Democratic Party Headquarters at 812-725-2020, or via email Dickey at info@floyddems.com.
